Aleksandra Runde

Aleksandra Runde is an illustrator from Latvia, currently living in Poland. She studied at the Art Academy of Latvia, Department of Graphic Arts.  Continued the studies at the Academy of Fine Arts of Kraków (Akademia Sztuk Pięknych im. Jan Matejki) and the Art Academy of Rome (Accademia di Belle Arti di Roma), where she specialized in printmaking techniques and illustration.

She enjoys both expressive brush strokes and delicate pencil lines, and she is always looking for new ways to draw hyacinths or the air that smells like freshly baked bread. 

She is one of the winning illustrators of the 2023 Illustrators Exhibition of Bologna Children's Book fair and the winner of the Bologna Ragazzi Award 2024 in the category Opera Prima for her debut picture book Ko darīt, ja esi kails pilsētā [What to do if you are naked in a city].
